Paul Lee is a fourth generation native and life-long resident of Dothan. After a 31 year career with The Sony Corporation, Paul retired as a Senior Production Specialist. He is now a Sales Representative for WDHN-TV, the local ABC-TV affiliate.

Paul began serving his community in 2005 after being elected as a Dothan City Commissioner. He was re-elected for that position in 2009. During his tenure as a commissioner, Paul worked tirelessly in many ways to make Dothan a better place to live. One specific way was to help further public education as he spearheaded the movement that committed one million dollars per year to the Dothan City School System which continues to this day.

In 2010, Paul was elected as a State Representative for House District 86. Although his public office changed from local government to state government, his focus and commitment to serve people only strengthened. As a State Representative, he presently serves on the Ways and Means General Fund, Health, Contract Review, and Local Government Committees. Paul is part of the Freshman Class that turned Alabama into a state that has become known across the country as the destination for new corporations and new businesses. This effort to attract new business for Alabama has brought thousands of jobs in the last three years.

As a state legislator, he has sponsored and passed several bills including an Aviation Bill which gives tax breaks for aviation companies making it appealing for them to bring businesses to Alabama, and the Jason Barfield Bill, which gives the families of soldiers killed in action while overseas certain tax exemptions. The Aviation Bill has generated significant announcements in Alabama over the last few months that will be bringing hundreds of jobs to the State of Alabama. One of these announcements was the opening of Commercial Jet in Dothan.

Paul has been very active in the community having served as the Houston County Campaign Chairman for the Wiregrass United Way, as a member and Vice Chairman of the Houston County Healthcare Authority Board for the Southeast Alabama Medical Center, on the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority and an active member of the Dothan Rotary Club.

Paul is the son of Burl Lee and the late Willadean Lee. He is married to Ellen Vise Lee and they have one daughter, Beth. They are active members of Logos Baptist Church. In his spare time, Paul enjoys spending time on his family farm, dove and quail hunting and playing golf.
